restoring 5510 config

Postby sparky » Wed Nov 28, 2012 2:34 am

Bit of a hyperthetical question/s. When we installed our 5510 and were happy we performed a Backup using ASDM > Backup Configurations. Going forward from that point we save the running config via tftp.

My question is, if we wanted to restore our running config to a spare unit (on a replicated network, same subnet to test) could we simply configure the management port and use CiscoTFTP to load the 'saved' running config and then write mem?

My second question is whether we would experience any issues performing this to a 5520?

Thanks

If should be able to move the config between devices with no problem. Check interface names and supported commands if you are moving between platforms.
